How to Return Mail to Sender
If you receive mail that is not what you ordered, the best way to return it is to refuse to open it. You can simply explain the problem to the mail carrier, or you can take the package to your nearest Post Office. When you refuse mail, be sure to write "Refused" on the outside of the envelope. You can refuse all types of mail, including bills, but you cannot refuse opened items. To avoid being charged with an additional fee, make sure to carefully examine the items you received.
