How to Have a Royal Mail Postal Address Format
If you are writing a letter to someone, you will need to know the correct postal mail address format. In a regular business letter, you will write the recipient's name and address first. After that, you will list the state or country they are serving in. You should also include a ZIP code or four-digit city and state code. However, if you are mailing a package that is over one ounce in weight, you must also add a directional to the envelope.
For international addresses, you can leave a hyphen. In other words, you cannot use a colon or any other punctuation mark after the city name. You may also have a blank line for the ZIP code. In the case of a Canadian mailing address, you should put the country name at the end of the first line, while the two-letter code format should be used between the country name and the state.
If you are sending a letter to a foreign country, you can use the city and state codes. You can put the postal code before the city and state. You can add a hyphen between the first and the last line of the address. Similarly, you can write the recipient's name in the last line. Besides the city and state, you can also write an individual's name at the end of the address.
